I have a personal rule:

No real estate texts after 9PM.

Not because I don’t care.
Not because I’m not invested.
But because, well… let’s be real:
I’m usually asleep.

I’m an early bird. I thrive in the morning. And by 9 o’clock, I’m typically in bed, not refreshing listing alerts or untangling escrow timelines.

And also, because nothing good happens in real estate group chats after dark.

Emotions spike. Stress takes over. The spirals begin.

And most of the time, I’ve found that the world can’t fix anything after 9PM.

But sometimes… the heart needs a little more than business hours.

Like the other night, when a text came in:
“I think we’re in over our heads.”

Just six words. But they carried the weight of a hundred unspoken worries.

Now let’s be clear, this wasn’t about affordability. The house was actually under their budget. This was about emotional overwhelm.

The moment where the idea of homeownership suddenly feels really real. Big payment. Big commitment. Big shift.

I could’ve waited until morning. But I didn’t.

Because I could feel it. The nerves. The fear. The way it was all sitting heavy on their chest. So I broke my no-text rule.

And I didn’t reply with pressure. Or push them to push through. I replied with calm. With truth. With space.

Because I’m not here to sell. I’m here to support.
